Spring, or not

Hmmm, snowed today, kind of refreshing, actually.
General Conference was sure good!  What a treat to be able to listen to living prophets, seers, and revelators.  It's great to have a constant reminder of what I need to be doing to be better.  Now, the important part (obviously) is doing it,  making changes (that hurts sometimes), and experiencing the growth necessary to become the me that my Heavenly Father expects me to be.

Being Better.  Who doesn't want to be better than they are?  It's why athletes train, musicians rehearse, and students study.  Pain and discomfort are involved.  A professor of mine once described motivation as the ability to endure pain and boredom.  He was talking of physical training, but it can easily be applied to any aspect of life.  Change almost always requires some pain, and it can also take time.  When we don't see immediate results we may experience boredom or lack of interest.  The key is to push through, look forward, and learn to rejoice in the journey.  That is when we realize that being better isn't so much how we do on one specific performance as it is how we feel about how we've done, both on that performance as well as in the process of getting there.
